GREAT BARR HARRIERS 1 – 6 COUGARS

Cougars travelled to Great Barr Harriers in the 1st round of the sscc. Harriers had an unbeaten season last year in the league , on a sunny afternoon & a great playing Cougars again huffed & puffed in the 1st half completely dominating the play, creating lots of opportunities but failing to convert or even test the keeper. Same old again as Cougars were made to pay for their lack of finishing as a defensive error let the the Harriers forward to cooly lob the keeper to give Harriers the lead with their 1st attack on goal. The 2nd half was a complete transformation for the Cougars as Joe Mcccann leveled the score within minutes of the re-start, then the flood gates open as Joe Mccann got a quick fire hatrick , Luke childs with a fantastic individual effort twisting & turning the Harriers defence inside out before smashing the ball into the bottom corner.
