A disapointing end to Wyrley Wolves winning spree today as they were beaten 2-1 away at Silverdale. A first half that produced at least 3 chancesbut no goals and a controversial decision that saw Wyrley Wolves miss out on a penalty from a hand ball.
Going in to the second half the two teams still seemed equally matched at first. A goal well in to the second half from Simo who slid the ball under the keeper after a run down the wing from Christian put the boys ahead at one nil, but after conceding 2 goals Wyrley Wolves heads dropped and the team started to look tired. A late goal in the second half raised spirits temporarily as Kyle passed the ball into Ben who went shoulder to shoulder with the defender and beat the keeper to put the ball away. However the celebrations were short lived as the ref blew for a foul and disallowed the goal.
Man of the match to Lucian who fought well despite feeling under the weather. Well done also to keeper Andrew who had plenty to do today. In summary an end to end game with plenty of action. A draw would have been a fairer result.
Better luck next time boys!
