Wyrley Wolves unbeaten league and cup run continued today with a 5-1 win over Rostance Edwards.
The game started off slowly for Wolves who struggled to get going and were kept inthe game by a couple of good saves from Andrew in goal and a fantastic goal line clearance from Hayden.
Once settled down there was some good, opening up Rostance Edwards defence and creating some decent opp0rtunities. The deadlock was broken when Ben provided some skillfull football down the left wing and a good cross into the area for Simo to put away from the far post. With the momentum up Wyrley Wolves piled on the pressure and a strike from outside the area from Kristian powered its way into the net.
2-0 Half time.
A slow start to the second half allowed Rostance Edwards to score, but celebrations were short lived as Wolves scored again within 3 minutes through some nice passing on the edge of the area and finished with a left foot shot from Kyle. Wolves continued to pass the ball well going forward and always looked like scoring more.
Their reward came 10 minutes later with another good build up and a cross from Kristian into the near post for Kyle to header into the net. Rostance Edwards continued to try and catch Wyrley Wolves on the break and had a couple of efforts on goal.
Jacob added the 5th goal for Wyrley Wolves with an individual effort from just inside the area beating the keeper at the far post.
The referee blew for a handball inside the area to give Rostance Edwards a penalty in the closing stages of the match. Andrew on form again, saved the penalty low down to his left.
A hardworking performance from Shamar earned him man of the match decided by todays referee. The team look like they are starting to get to know each other better becoming more vocal calling for the ball and improving every week .
