WYRLEY HIT TOP SPOT

WYRLEY LK 09  3  PARK HILL BOYS 0

In the first minute a determined run riding several tackles ended in a shot by Ben Squire to give Wyrley the lead. This set the tone for the game and Wyrley dominated the early exchanges with Bobby Banks and Ben Squire bossing central midfield. A strong Park Hill team came into the game midway through the first half but were kept out by some excellent defending by Sam Lawrence, Alex Roe and keeper Joe Lakin. Wyrley started the second half quicker and a superb through ball from Bobby Banks set up Lawrence Begu who finished smartly, soon after a shot by Banks hit the bar and Begu tapped home Wyrleys third. A last minute penalty from Ben Squire was saved by the keeper after a foul on Callum Wood. Despite a few injuries a solid performance from the whole squad to go top of the league.
