On a chilly, windy, wet winters Sunday morning the Warriors were looking forward to their last two matches of 2015. Games today were against Wednesfield FC & Old Wulfrunians Cubs.
What a performance by all the boys, the Warriors are going from strength to strength, Its amazing to see the progression and growing confidence in this group and how far they have all come since their 1st games back in September.
Isaac was in the wars today, but he kept battling and showed his strength and courage in both games with his quick footwork showing his class and vision by providing some lovely passes, rewarded with the goal of the day in our second game taking on 3 players with a mazy run from the halfway line with a cracking finish.
Alfie was calm and collected on the ball with a solid defensive performance in our first game then keeping a clean sheet with his turn in goal in our second game pulling off a cracking close range save. Thoroughly deserving his man of the match award for the 2nd game.
Cole the goal was on fire again, all over the pitch showing his sharpness grabbing himself a hat trick in our second game, quality as always.
Harry was so unlucky not to grab a few goals himself, but his selfless performance and effort, along with his work rate was outstanding, and what great corners too.
Carter was yet again on top form, always getting in those big tackles breaking up the opposition attacks and its great to see his confidence growing each week, venturing further forward today his great turn and pass setting up a goal for the Warriors.
Jake always plays with that cheeky smile and after his clean sheet in goal, he was awesome, some great turns, quick passes and working back when we lost possession, rewarded with the man of the match performance in the 1st game.
Hayden, what great saves for the 2nd half in goal against Wednesfield, keeping us in the game, superb. Rewarded also with a great goal in our second game.
Lewis is always dependable getting in some great positions down the flanks, working back also when his team needed him in defence. Scoring a rocket against Old Wulfrunians.
And last but not least Jack, getting himself another brace, left foot, right foot great performance son you make me a very proud dad.
A couple of weeks off now for the Warriors, so a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all at Wyrley Juniors FC.
