Stafford started off the brightest and pushed hard to stamp their dominence on the game. Wyrley sat back and soaked up sustained pressure for 28 mins, hardly able to venture out of their own half. Lauren was called in to action on several occassions saving at least 5 certain goals. Hayley B cleared off the line, Jody battled hard to defend the box, Ash tackled cleanly and Kirsty was unfortunate to slice the ball into her own net 0-1. Wyrley tried hard to get back into the game, but the fluid passing game from last week was nowhere to be seen. 41 mins Sophie took on 1 defender turned took on a second defender, no sorry, that was the same defender twice, and lobbed the keeper, beautiful goal 1-1. Game on.
Second half continued in the same way with Stafford booting long balls over the midfield and pegging Wyrley in their own half. 55 mins Stafford were once again ahead after pinball in the box 1-2. Hayley B made way for Hayley T, who found that Stafford were more physical than Bridgnorth, and was on the receiving end of several challenges that maybe should have resulted in more than a free-kick. 64 mins Stafford again scythed through the defence 1-3. 70 mins Long ball again followed by a high shot which Lauren tried to keep out but ended up dropping the ball behind her while off balance 1-4. Shelly, Kelly, Tash and Emily all showed grit and determination in battling for the ball but unfortunatly the final pass was cutout by Stafford on countless occassions. Vikki replaced Kelly and made several darting runs down the left wing. 75 mins Stafford made it 1-5. 80 mins a sweet move between Leanne and Sophie left Sophie infront of goal to claim her 2nd 2-5.
Stafford were following the weightwatchers plan. The Wyrley spectators need to be put forward for papal beatification, after having to endure a majesticaly apathetic performance. All comments above were supplied by the people who watched the game, and do not in anyway reflect my own personal opinion.
