A tough day for the lads today Panthers fans, however it was great to see some real battling, and good passing in the two matches against Four Oaks and Cresswell
Four Oaks
Panthers weren’t out of the blocks as quickly this week and had to soak up a lot of Four Oaks pressure. This soon changed as Ryan made a good penetrative run down the right. There was interplay between Ritchie and Frazer too in the first half. Wyrley were a little deep off goal kicks and Four Oaks capitalised to make it one nil. Willo was as usual snapping at the heels of the
Four Oaks players too. Vinnie made some great saves in the first half too. Some quick swaps in the break saw Joshua on and Lukas on. Ritchie kicked off the first half with a lovely mazy run which deserved a goal. Joshua then dazzled with some great footwork and a lovely through ball down the line. Joshua and Ritchie passed well to each other but despite the panthers best efforts they couldn’t find a way back into the match, with Lukas keeping goal very confidently.
Cresswell
An early shot from Joshua on the right came close for Wyrley. Ritchie again passed well and Willo made some good direct runs. Cresswell though took advantage of the Wyrley midfield not looking for the pass often enough, and scored two quick goals. Cresswell then broke down the right and scored the third well from a lovely counter attack. The second half the Wyrley lads really battled well with some very dangerous Joshua corners, direct Willo runs and
Ryan and Ritchie battling hard. Frazer and the keepers all played their part, with improvements coming from all of the Panthers. The passing was lovely to watch on occasion, and surely were very unlucky to go four down direct from a corner. Ritchie went very close from a dangerous Josh corner. So a tough match but from the second half the lads clearly enjoyed the success of the passing much appreciated by the crowd.
