wyrley panthers u7’s group F winners and match report

WYRLEY PANTHERS UNDER 7’S V BROWNHILLS WHITES
This was Panthers last DT trophy match, with Panthers sitting top of group F with this the last match to play. What a hard match it was too! So this game was all to play for. Both teams came out producing some extremely great defensive play. Panthers broke the dead lock with Liam Banks scoring a great well taken goal, 1-0 to Panthers. As pressure mounted Joshua Lester and Fraser Simms kept pressure at bay. Goalkeeper, Lukas Purcell read the game extremely well, gathering up all half chances. Brownhills pressed very hard and got there reward just before half time making it 1-1. Second half started at the same level of intensity and commitment with both teams trying to get the edge. Ryan Jones, Wilson Cooper and Liam Banks worked awesome at hitting them on the break and coming very close on occasions. Brownhills started to get pressed back half way into the second half with the pressure and scored into their own net, very unlucky for the Brownhills team, but Panthers deserved it due to the pressing and hard work! Panthers Joshua Lester and Fraser Simms defensive play outstanding at times to finish the game 2-1 to Panthers.
Wonderful game but a very hard game at that!! League F winners

m.o.m Joshua Lester
WYRLEY PANTHERS v ROSTANCE EDWARDS
Second game for Panthers and these two teams face each other again after last week’s draw of 1-1. Panthers came out on fire and pressed Rostance back from the off. Panthers produced some great play from Vinnie Jones and Wilson Cooper making some great individual runs through the centre of midfield. Liam Banks came extremely close with some long range free kicks trying everything to extend their lead. Half way into the first half Joshua Lester produced a great strike from long range leaving the keeper no chance, 1-0 to Panthers. Ryan Jones came on from a substitute and straight away linked up with Wilson Cooper and Liam Banks, with Rostance unable to cope with the pace of the game. Ryan Jones broke away down the right flank and with their defender pulling his shirt Ryan still managed to power it in to the bottom corner, 2-0 to Panthers. Straight after that goal Wilson Cooper broke away and made a great pass to Ryan Jones to tap in, 3-0 to Panthers. Panthers continued to pressure with Ryan Jones missing out on his hat-trick by hitting the post on his free kick. Panthers produced some solid defending by Joshua Lester and Fraser Simms making goalkeeper Lukas Purcell have a quiet game in front of goal, clean sheet for Lukas Purcell. Game finished 3-0 to Panthers!
