As the newcomers to the Wyrley football scene, WJFC Tigers U7’s had a game on their hands, with 3 players missing.
LANE HEAD TIGERS 3 V 1 WYRLEY JUNIORS TIGERS – The first match started with excellent team play, with Armaan Sohi scoring the 1st goal in the far right hand corner of the goal with a turn and shot within the first minute of play. However, that spurred Lane Head Tigers to come forwards and they scored after the second minute with a great solo effort. 1st half finished at 1-1. The 2nd half saw Wyrley miss a few opportunities in between the time that their opponents scored in the 7th minute with a great strike into the top corner and then again in the 10th minute following a goal mouth scramble.
WYRLEY JUNIORS TIGERS 1 v 0 BROWNHILLS CC – The Tigers set about this game with a lot more organisation which coincided with the return of Lewis Hall in defence. Playing against the wind they battled well to end the half at 0-0 with keeper Joe Timmins making some vital stops. The second half saw sustained pressure from the Tigers with much of it being played in Brownhills half of the pitch and it was rewarded when Joe R saw his second attempt find the back of the net after the keeper did well with his first shot. A huge cheer followed the final whistle with the Tigers up and running in their maiden season. Full time score 1-0 to the Tigers.
A big well done to Tom Sutton, Kian Cox, Cole Askey,Bradley Nutting and the above named players.
