WYRLEY TIGERS Vs FC PERTON

This was the starting game of the DT CUP and the Tigers are excited at the prospect of playing for their first competitive cup – This showed from the off.  Lewis and ironman Will were in defence making it almost impossible for FC Perton to break through; midfield was held by Arran who played an excellent game, passing the ball around and getting stuck in.  Tom and Cole were on the wings, again playing with relative ease.   A fantastic cross from Cole landed straight at Joe’s feet, a quick couple of turns gave Joe had an opening, and with sheer skill he buried the ball into the back of the net.

Over the next ten minutes the Tigers had FC Perton pinned back with some superb passing, all the lads playing their parts brilliantly.   The Tigers were caught out once by FC Perton a let through their one and only goal.   However, the Tiger’s held their heads up and pressed on –  Super Tom managed to put two shots into the back of the FC Perton net, giving us a three one lead.   FC Perton tried their best to get back into the game with a couple of decent shots, but Joe T was more than equal to their challenge and made some world class saves.

WYRLEY TIGERS Vs BEECHDALE JUNIORS

The Tigers were on a high from winning their first game and started this one with the same steely determination.  Tom and Cole were causing Beechdale all sorts of problems from the wings.   Cole’s ability on the ball was outstanding, he was like a mini Ronaldo; the Beechdale boys didn’t know what was happening with ball after ball being fired into the box.  It wasn’t long before Tom sent an excellent cross to Cole who converted it into the back of the net with a thunderous shot.  Aran was strong in midfield again, and (with some great vision) made some quality passes.   This enabled Cole to get through another goal and once again found the back of the net.

Beechdale eventually managed to break through and scored one passed Joe T.  This was a minor setback, but between Lewis and Iron man Will they made sure Beechdale didn’t get many more chances on goal.  When they did manage to break through our defence, Joe T was there and continued to make some more super saves.

With the ball being passed around with flair, super Tom managed to put an excellent shot past Beechdale’s keeper.   Armaan came on for Joe and made an excellent pass to Tom; this allowed Tom to get another shot, easily flying passed the Beechdale keeper to make it 4-1 to the Tigers.

Man of the match went to Lewis – It was well deserved, he trained really hard last week and it showed in the games today – Well done Lewis!   A special mention to Tom and Cole for two super games and Joe T for his excellent effort in goal, making sure the other teams never got more than one past him.

THE CUP IS UP FOR GRABS – KEEP ROARING TIGERS AND IT WILL BE YOURS – WE’RE ALL VERY PROUD OF YOU, WELL DONE!!
