Too close for comfort
The game started well with some great passing football. From the half way line Kyle passed to Simo then Lucian and completing the run by passing back to Kyle who put it away for our first goal. Soon followed by another chance with a throw in from Shamar which was headed over the bar. Lucian battled hard tackling and winning the ball throughout the match along with Jimmy who also had a good game in midfield, holding the ball up spraying passes around the area to create chances.
Wyrley couldn’t stop Cresswell coming forward though and Aiden was forced to make a great clearance when he was left one on one with their striker. In fact Cresswell went on to test our keeper on far more occasions that we would have liked. Including a fantastic save from a free kick, diving to the right and pushing the ball around the post.
After half time Wyrley seemed to have lost concentration and soon allowed a goal when keeper Aiden was left one on one again. To add to the frustration Creswell’s second goal came from a break within their own area that they were able to take the length of the pitch and strike in to the top of the net. No chance for Aiden to save it.
Wyrley equalised when Ben had a great run taking on defenders and crossing the ball in front of goal for Kyle who flew in to head it high in to the back of the net. A close game. 1 point.
