Wyrley Juniors Girls U17s 7 – 1 Warndon Village U17s

Warndon were much more awake than the 10 wyrley girls from the kick off 1 minute into the game and Lauren was forced into her 1st save.  Both teams were pushing for the opening goal and on 10mins it came wyrleys way, Hayleys free kick finding Vicky unmarked and went in off the post, 1-0.  Kelly was doing a great job filling in defence, sending long balls upto Leanne who nearly scored on 11mins, but the shot was better suited to a rugby field.  Warndon were testing the Wyrley defence with some nice over the top balls, but it was Tash who brought the ball out of our half, lovely pass to Sophie who squared it across the box for Lauri to head home 18mins 2-0.  2 mins later Jody and Kelly must have got hungry as they made a sandwich out of the warndon forward, penalty awarded.  Up steps the striker, and she converts the kick 10 foot over the bar.  Pretty much  a midfield game for the next 10 mins, wyrley are doing quite well for 10 players, but we were all very relieved to see Kirsty arrive, having a full team should make the game a little easier.  Some nice football played by both sides continues for the next 12mins, even Jody had a long range shot form the centre circle which only went a foot over.  42mins Tash sent a cracking ball over the keeper and dropped under the bar 3-0.

Second half again saw Warndon start the brighter and another cracking shot from outside the box left Lauren helpless as it dropped under the bar, 3-1.  So the wind was giving a helping hand and now it seems its warndons turn to have the advantage.  Chelsea was taking some wonderful corners and winning her fair share of headers again, 57mins and Lauri latched on to the loose ball and rounded the keeper, and the ball bobbled over the line, 4-1.  The next 20 mins are end to end, there is a pinball game in the box and Sophie scoops it up into the net, 5-1.  2mins later on 82min Sophie hits a cracking unstoppable shot for her brace 6-1.  Warnden had chances and made wyrley work hard all the way through the game and the score line does not do them justice.   The last Wyrley attack resulted in a corner which Chelsea once again took, sending a lovely ball into the box which Lauri hit on the half volley, giving their keeper no chance, and Lauri a well deserved hat-trick 7-1.   Full time and another great game played with desire by all, more of the same next week girls.Pushing Tin movie
