Three Cheers For Wyrley Panthers Under 9's

Hip Hip, Hooray…

The newly formed Wyrley Panthers Under 9’s played their first 2 matches today.

With all the boys looking fantastic in their strip, Nigel lead them brilliantly into their first match against Great Barr Harriers. With Chase in goal, Damian & Daniel in defence, Josh & Will playing midfield & Louie & Lewis upfront any first time nerves soon disappeared as the Panthers put in 100% effort. Chase carried out a spectacular save when Great Barr Harriers were given a penalty in the first half & even with the Panthers being 5 – 0 down by the end of the first half the boys still didn’t become despondent. The Panthers definitely stepped it up a notch in the second half with no goals being scored by either team.

With Panthers vs Cresswell for the second match Daniel did a brilliant job in goal with Chase taking his place in defence. Cresswell managed to take a 3 – 0 lead in the first half which again seemed to encourage Panthers to play even harder.
The second half looked as though it was going to take a turn for the worst
when Will had to come off due to injury but Cresswell admirably stepped in & loaned Panthers a player.

Then it happened…..

Right before our very eyes…..

LEWIS SCORED A CRACKING GOAL!!!!!

It put a smile on the face of the Wyrley Panthers (players & parents!!) & really made the day worthwhile.

Well done lads a brilliant effort by every single one of you.

See you at training on Tuesday
