After a great win at Lye and then the disappointment of dropped points at Mahal we welcomed an in form Wrens Nest to Grosvenor Park. Welcomed was definitely the word as well as once again we failed to perform in the 1st half. Against a good footballing side we sat back and admired them instead of pressing and keeping tight. communication was again virtually non existence with only Paul Baker being heard. The visitors took the lead just before half time when we lost possesion in their half and the ball was cleared to the half way line where a player was allowed to turn and pass inside, the ball was played into our box and cooly slotted home.
The second half was entirely different after a deserved rocket from manager Phil McGuinness. Everything that was wrong in the first half seemed to be put right and only a failure to get in enough shots on goal prevented an equaliser. This though is the story of our season lack of goals. We now have a mountain to climb if we are to have any chance of promotion and must win our remaining 5 games, 4 of which are at home. However we won’t give up and will hope for slip ups from other teams.
